Grace Johnston

Ms. Johnston is an Associate Lobbyist at Political Solutions, advancing client priorities in the California Capitol and before regulatory bodies. Her portfolio includes retail operations, agriculture, insurance, and environmental policy. She works closely with clients to develop and advance legislative strategies while helping them navigate the regulatory and rulemaking processes that follow.

Ms. Johnston joined Political Solutions in 2025 as a Legislative Aide after completing the firm’s internship program. Her work spans the legislative and regulatory process, including monitoring committee and floor proceedings, tracking legislation and budget issues, developing advocacy materials and position statements, and coordinating legislative meetings and advocacy days. She also contributes to the firm’s communications and media efforts, helping shape how Political Solutions communicates its message and expertise to clients and the public.

Her perspective on agricultural policy is informed by firsthand experience working on her family’s farm. That experience has given her a practical understanding of the operational, economic, and regulatory challenges facing California producers. She also manages the farm’s social media and content creation, further developing her ability to communicate technical and complex issues to a broad range of audiences. She brings that same perspective to her advocacy and communications work at Political Solutions.

Ms. Johnston holds a B.S. in Environmental Policy Analysis & Planning from the University of California, Davis, with a concentration in Environmental Politics and a minor in Economics. Her academic background combines policy analysis with an understanding of the economic forces that shape legislative and regulatory decisions. She brings an analytical, collaborative, and practical approach to her work with clients, stakeholders, and policymakers.
